CCTV Images Of Attack On Bullion Van That Killed Police Officer Released

A CCTV footage of the tragic incident which involved the death of a policeman and a bystander at James town just popped up.

The footage, as described by Ghanaweb captured six robbers on three motorbikes. Each of them had pillion riders behind them pretending to be Okada drivers.

They trailed the van from Abossey-Okai heading towards the Korle-Bu Mortuary. A taxi was also trailing the bullion van as well.

At the Laterbiokoshie traffic light which is near the Old Nkrumah flats and Bishop Bowers, the robbers hid their firearms and took cover behind some commercial buses.

The footage captured the robbers at the Korle-Bu junction traffic light where they were soon branching towards Jamestown where the van was headed to.

At Adendenkpo, the driver used an obscure route which gave the robbers the green light to launch their operation. One of the motorbikes waited at an intersection while the other two drove closer to the van.

When the van got to a less crowded place, the taxi and ‘Okada’ drivers begun shooting indiscriminately at the van killing the policeman, Emmanuel Osei and a young bystander, Afua Badu

Meanwhile, the Police in Kyebi in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region has arrested four suspects in connection with the robbery.

The suspects: Collins Addae aka Kekye from Akim-Swedru; Ebenezer Gyimah, aka Peace and Musa Kamara, 26; with his brother Suleman Ketah, 26 years old alias 69, both from Guinea, are said to be on Police wanted list.

Reports stated that the suspects were fished from their hideouts at Kyebi by the Police at a mining site upon information gathered by the CID Headquarters in Accra.
