#WeAreAllKaaka Protestors Attacked Officers With Guns, Clubs And Stones In Ejura – Ghana Police

The Ghana Police Unit at Ejura has released a press statement to account for the chaos which resulted in the death of two people and left several others injured.

This morning, the youth of Ejura demonstrated against the police following the death of Ibrahim Kaaka Mohammed on June 28th 2021.

According to the press release from the police, the youth of Ejura surrounded and blocked a principal road in the town after the burial of Ibrahim.

The main Ejura- Atebubu road was blocked by an angry mob impeding traffic. The police then brought military reinforcement to curb the chaotic scene but it went sideways. The youth charged on the military with all sorts of implements including machetes, firearms, clubs, stones etc.

The revealed military personnel was also injured amongst three other people

The military, in an effort to calm the situation, fired warning shots to disperse the angry mob but it yielded no positive results. “The death and injuries were recorded during the process” the statement read.

The police however assured the people of Ejura that investigations have commenced apprehending the murderers of ‘Kaaka’. They also entreated the public to provided any useful information they had on the homicide and promised to keep them anonymous.

They also called on traditional leaders of the community to calm the youth down to ensure a safer environment.
