The good news that is currently trending on the local digital space confirms that Nii Odartey Lamptey, a former Black Stars player, has won the legal case brought against him by his estranged wife.
As a result, he has been given the authority to reclaim his East Legon mansion, which his wife took away from him after their marriage fell apart.
Speaking on Angel FM after the win, Odartey Lampety said:
“This is a house I bought for $100,000 around 1998/1999 while playing in Germany so you can imagine. I was given one hour to leave the house when my ex wife filed for divorce. I’m extremely happy at this new ruling”
Amidst the glad tidings, exclusive photos of the East-Legon mansion have surfaced on the internet.
Prior to the circulation of these photos, a picture of a royal house had already popped up and many people believed that it was the property Odartey and his ex-wife Madam Gloria were fighting over.
BACKGROUND
Odartey Lamptey’s ex-wife had filed a third appeal to prevent the footballer from forcibly evicting her from his 7-bedroom mansion in East Legon.
After her second appeal was dismissed, Gloria Adjoa Appiah Lamptey authorized her lawyers to file the third and final appeal.
Gloria Appiah was asked to vacate the mansion seven years ago after the court granted divorce, but she has refused and has been hiding behind appeals to stay at the mansion indefinitely.
Gloria had planned to appeal the court’s decision to award her 40% of the GH500,000 alimony cash during the divorce, but her lawyer advised her against doing so.
Meanwhile, Odartey Lamptey had threatened Gloria with eviction because he couldn’t continue renting a house with his new family after 7 years of divorce.
Odartey Lamptey discovered through DNA testing that all three children from his marriage to Gloria Lamptey were not his after more than two decades of marriage.
Gloria Lamptey filed a claim in court for half of Odartey Lamptey’s assets. She demanded his 7-bedroom mansion, a 500,000 alimony payment, a 50% stake in the footballer’s school, and other assets, among other things.
