I Was Rejected By Top Artistes For Collaboration – Black Sherif

Black Sherif, a rapper and singer, revealed in a new radio interview that when he was on his way to the top and was barely known, some mainstream artists refused to collaborate with him when he approached them.

But now that he’s the hottest cake in the industry, he revealed that the majority of these artists approach him for collaborations, a statement he made to emphasize the importance of artists honing their craft first so that everything else falls into place for them.

This was revealed by the First and Second Sermon hitmaker during an exclusive interview with Kwame Bee, host of Kasapa 102.5FM’s Diwulane Mu drive time show.

“They truly barb’ now if you call for collabo, they’ll do it.” You will reach a level that no one can deny you if you work on yourself. So the most important thing is to focus on yourself”.

He, however, refused to name the specific artists who passed him up at the start of his career.

Black Sherif was interviewed on GHOne TV on Friday about his music, childhood, and family—specifically, the whereabouts of his parents, as he rarely speaks about them.

As the interview progressed, he primarily discussed Sister Mariama, whom he mentioned in his Second Sermon, in which he asked God to keep her in his bosom until they met in heaven one day.

Sister Mariama, according to the young rapper, was his cousin who died tragically while performing Muslim dawn prayers. Blacko, as he prefers to be known, stated that it was the strong bond and rapport that existed between them that prompted him to pay glowing tribute to her in his Second Sermon song.
