Ghana is no longer among Africa’s top ten teams, according to the most recent FIFA ranking, which places the Black Stars 11th after their dismal performance at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana has slid to 61st place in the overall rankings.
Ghana was knocked out in the first round of the recently concluded competition. The four-time African champions failed not win a single match and earned only one point out of a potential nine to finish last in their group.
The Black Stars began their campaign with a loss to Morocco, drew with Gabon, and were subsequently surprised 3–2 by debutants Comoros – Ghana’s first group stage departure since 2006.
