Caleb Kudah of Citi FM and Citi TV has been arrested today, 11th May 2021.
The arrest of the young Ghanaian journalist has sparked outrage on social media over speculation that it is linked to a viral video in which he criticized Ghana Police over its measures to ensure the #FixTheCountry demonstration doesn’t happen – but this is not true.

FameBugs has gathered that Celeb “had visited someone at the National Security” and “was arrested after filming at the premises of the Ministry” which is a restricted security zone.
Detailing the arrest, Citi News’ Security Correspondent, Anass Seidu said “After he was arrested, the operatives detected that he had sent whatever he had filmed to another colleague, Zoe Abu-Baidoo” so “they moved to Citi FM with heavily armed men to arrest Zoe”.
According to him, “when they got here, the management of Citi FM and Citi TV joined the team back to the National Security Ministry with Zoe. After some interrogation, Zoe was allowed to leave” whilst “Caleb Kudah was being interrogated at the time we left”.
In a report by city newsroom, he added that “the information we have is that Caleb Kudah will be soon released“.
UPDATE: 8:20 PM – citinewsroom.com now reports that Caleb has been released.
6 days ago, Ghana Police secured a court order to stop ‘Fix The Country’ protesters to go on intended demonstrations on Sunday. However, some online protesters have vowed to protest regardless of the court injunction.
In anticipation of this demonstration, the Ghana Police stormed Independence Square, which would have been the assembly point for the protesters, with armoured vehicles, hot water cannon trucks among others.
Caleb was one of the few who was on-site close to the square and filmed the officers at the venue and criticised them for being used against protestors whilst the #FixTheCountry protest will come to save them too.
Watch his viral videos in the posts below which caused the alarm that it must have been why he was arrested but as stated earlier, that is not the reason.
