CAF Confirms Dates For 2023 AFCON In Côte D’Ivoire

The dates for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations have been released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) (AFCON).

The competition, which will take place in Côte d’Ivoire, will begin on June 23 and conclude on July 23, with 24 countries competing for the coveted silverware.

The tournament was moved from January to June by the CAF in order to allow the teams enough time to prepare due to the limited time frame if it were held in January next year.

On January 21, 2022, the preliminary qualifying draws will be released.

Rwanda, whose sole previous appearance in the competition was in Tunisia in 2004, will be seeking to break a 19-year drought by qualifying for Africa’s greatest soccer festival.
