2022 BET Awards : Full List Of Nominees

Doja Cat has the most nominations for the 2022 BET Awards, with six. Doja is nominated for best female R&B/pop artist, best female hip hop artist, album of the year for Planet Her, BET Her for “Woman,” and two awards for “Kiss Me More,” which features SZA. Doja Cat is the only artist nominated in both R&B/pop and hip hop categories this year, demonstrating her broad appeal.

With four nominations each, Ari Lennox and Drake are the runners-up.

Baby Keem, Silk Sonic, Chlöe, Future, H.E.R., Jazmine Sullivan, Ye (formerly Kanye West), Kendrick Lamar, Lil Baby, Mary J. Blige, and Tems were all nominated for three awards.

H.E.R.’s Back of My Mind, Kanye West’s Donda, and Doja’s Planet Her are among three albums nominated for album of the year at the 64th annual Grammy Awards.

Tyler, the Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost, which won a Grammy for best rap album, and Jazmine Sullivan’s Heaux Tales, which won a Grammy for best R&B album, are also contenders in this category. Drake’s Certified Lover Boy and Silk Sonic’s An Evening With Silk Sonic are the other two nominees in this category. (The latter was released after the Grammy eligibility deadline.)

Baby Keem, who received a Grammy nomination for best new artist, is also nominated in this category. He is pitted against Benny The Butcher, Latto, Muni Long, Tems, and Yung Bleu.

The hits competing for best collaboration include “Kiss Me More” by Doja Cat featuring SZA, which won a Grammy for best pop duo/group performance, and “Family Ties” by Baby Keem & Lamar, which won a Grammy for best rap performance.

King Richard, which received an Oscar nomination for best picture, and Summer of Soul, which won an Oscar for documentary (feature), are competing for best picture alongside Candyman, Respect, Space Jam: A New Legacy, and The Harder They Fall.

Will Smith has a chance to redeem himself after having the best and worst night of his career at the Oscars, winning best actor for King Richard but upstaging his own moment of triumph by slapping Chris Rock and shouting obscenities. He is nominated for best actor, but he will be up against Denzel Washington, who is nominated for The Tragedy of Macbeth. The two actors competed for best actor at a number of award shows, culminating in the Academy Awards.

Two busy actors are nominated for two performances in this category (shown, in each case, as a joint entry). For his roles in Respect and Godfather of Harlem, Forest Whitaker has been nominated for best actor. Zendaya has received nominations for best actress for her roles in Euphoria and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

A voting academy of entertainment professionals from music, television, film, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, influencers, and creative arts determines nominations.

The 2022 BET Awards, hosted by Taraji P. Henson, will air live on BET on Sunday, June 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Connie Orlando, BET’s executive vice president of specials, music programming, music strategy, and news, will co-executive produce the annual show with Jamal Noisette, BET’s VP of specials, music programming, and music strategy. The show is produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment, with Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay serving as executive producers.
