Ghanaians have been world cup horny for years and exactly ten years ago, they nearly got that climax until Gyan missed a spot-kick at the last minute after Suarez fingered the game with a red-carded foul in the goal post.
That penalty missed by Gyan would have taken Ghana to the semi-finals but he missed it and that dislocated the sweetest spot Ghanaians have had for soccer, to a point that the Blackstars hardly turn them on lately.

On the other hand, Suarez became a coitus interruptus hero in his country, Uruguay, for pushing off Ghana’s team from planting a seed in the semi-finals after banging their way to the quarter finals. Sadly, all these happened in an African bed, South Africa.
It’s exactly a year ever since that heartbreak and Ghanaians have taken to social media recount the painful memories. Tweets and comments have seen ‘Asamoah Gyan’ trending on the microblogging platform and we have some of them below.

There was no cheating here. Suarez did not get away with the hand ball, he got a red card and Ghana got a last minute of extra time penalty as per the rules. The person who shouldn't be forgiven is Asamoah Gyan. https://t.co/1jvL8yK0u2
