The prize package for the overall best farmer in the Greater Accra region, as the country celebrates farmers throughout the country, has sparked outrage in Ghana, particularly on social media.
The overall best farmer, a poultry farmer Assembly, received a bicycle, sprayer, and other items as his reward for his efforts in this year’s Accra Metropolitan Farmer’s Day Celebration.
The ceremony to honor farmers in this year’s edition was held at St. Theresa’s School in Accra, and the farmer was there with his wife and children.
Indeed, the prize package for the recipient, who has made significant contributions to the growth of Ghana’s agriculture sector, has taken Ghanaians by surprise, and they have expressed disappointment in the authorities, claiming he deserves more.
