Thomas Partey Excluded From Black stars Squad Ahead Of Friendly Games

Ghanaian International and Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Teye Partey will not be included in the Black Stars squad ahead of the friendly games scheduled for 8th and 11th June against Morroco and Ivory Coast respectively.

Initially, it was circulated that he was sacked by Head coach, CK Akonnor because he arrived late to camp. However, after confirming from sources close to him, it was revealed he asked for permission to be excluded from the team squad citing fitness issues.

Apparently, Thomas together with Jordan Ayew and Fatawu Isshaku arrived at camp on Thursday but he, in particular, asked to be excused and CK accepted it. This was according to Citi TV sports Journalist, Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo

Fentuo further added on his Twitter page that Brentford player Tariq Fosu was rather sacked on grounds of a misdemeanour.

He arrived in Ghana on Wednesday but ghosted the technical team and didn’t report on the said date (Thursday 3rd June).

Instead, he reported to camp on Friday night and that wasn’t right in the books of the National Team Authorities. As punishment, he was shown the exit door and won’t get to play in the friendly games.

Black Stars are gearing up to face Morroco on 8th June and Ivory Coast later on June 11th.
