The local government in Nigeria’s Kogi State has begun to cut youth dreadlocks, claiming that they are a nuisance to society.
The administrator of the Okene Local Government Area has been photographed forcibly cutting a young man’s dreadlocks.
According to the story, the young man was asked to sit on the floor while the government official went to get a pair of scissors to cut the mountain of thick hair down.
That was a local assembly initiative to rid the area of youth with dreadlocks.
Nigerians reacted angrily, but Zubair Amoka was protected by a team of police officers who ensured that the youth was rendered helpless so that his dreadlocks could be cut.
