Kwesi Arthur Releases New Album “Son Of Jacob”

Kwesi Arthur’s debut album, Son of Jacob, draws on his ancestry to depict contemporary Ghanaian life, complete with highs and lows.

Over the course of 15 tracks, the artist born Emmanuel Kwesi Danso Arthur Junior channels his soothing voice while delving into the personal, familial, and social. From the reflective “Silver Spoon” to the aspirational “Paper” and the bass-heavy “Winning” featuring VIC MENSA, Arthur weaves multi-lingual flows between trap basslines, Afrocentric percussion, and smooth pop melodies.

On “Celebrate,” the Tema native crafts jovial lines alongside Nigerian singer Teni before enlisting UK-based outfit NSG on the Afroswing “Diamonds Dancing,” blending asokpor and amapiano on “Animal,” and infusing highlife on the gospel-tinged closer “Adom.”
