Kennedy Agyapong fails to appear in court; Here’s the excuse from his lawyers

Kennedy Agyapong has failed to appear in court after he was ordered to show up to explain why he shouldn’t be punished for insulting a Judge.

The Assin Central MP is facing a case of contempt after he described a Justice of the High court, Justice Amos Wuntah Wuni, as “stupid” and threatened to deal with him.

At the proceedings in the cour today his lawyers filed an application that Mr Agyapong was not personally served with the first order dated September 9, 2020, for him to appear before the court.

This made Justice Wuni order a substituted service to be served on the MP for him to appear before the court on Friday, September 18, 2020.

Per the order of the court, the summons to Mr Agyapong should be posted on the court’s notice board and at the premises of Oman FM and Net 2 TV.

However, social media has been buzzing over the case today, with users demanding that Kennedy Agyapong should be brought to book for disrespecting the Judge even though he has apologized.

Tweeps argue that just as the Montie 3 have been jailed despite their apology, the MP should be sentenced too whilst others opine because of his political influence, he’ll be favoured. See the tweets below.
