JAY-Z, the iconic rapper, has responded to Rick Ross’s suggestion of a verzuz battle between them.
Fans speculated that JAY-Z would face Rick Ross after the “Gold Roses” rapper mentioned the possibility of a fight during an appearance on The Real earlier this month.
Ross stated “JAY-Z….. Yeah! What’s the harm? That, in my opinion, is what distinguishes Verzuz because it brings out the best in both parties. That’s an option, but I have to give my flowers to the big homie first.”
However, in a recent Twitter Spaces conversation with singer Alicia Keys, JAY-Z, 52, stated that “no one” can compete with him.
He said;
“No disrespect… everyone’s amazing. No one can stand on that stage with me. There’s not a chance in hell. I don’t care how long it is.
“You got to stand in front of the ‘Grammy Family Freestyle’ live? No one has ever even seen me perform that, you got to stand in front of that? That ain’t never going to happen.”
Rappers Timbaland and Swizz Beatz created Verzuz. Producers, songwriters, and artists compete against one another on the entertainment platform.
JAY-Z became the artist with the most Grammy nominations last month. The rapper received three more Recording Academy nominations on Tuesday, bringing his total to 83.
