Former Ghana Black Stars and Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan has stated that he has never smoked marijuana or consumed alcohol in his life.
In an interview with Sompa FM in Kumasi, Ghana, he stated that he spends time with people who drink and smoke hard drugs, but that he has never tried them, only smoking shisha.
“I’ve never drank alcohol in my life.” I do not consume alcohol or smoke marijuana. “Shisha is the only thing I’ve ever smoked in my life.”
The football star also discussed his book “The Legyandary,” saying that it serves as a blueprint for those who aspire to be like him.
Gyan scored four goals in seven matches during Ghana’s 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, helping the country qualify for its first World Cup.
He also scored the tournament’s fastest goal in 68 seconds. The goal came against the Czech Republic on June 17 at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne, Germany, and helped the Black Stars to a 2–0 victory.
