I’ll Run For President – Kennedy Agyapong Confirms

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, has spoken out for the first time about his presidential ambitions in Ghana.

He has confirmed that he will run in the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primary in the hopes of becoming President of Ghana in 2024.

He has decided to collect nomination forms and run in the NPP primary when the party opens nominations, he says.

“It is true, and I am confirming it to you today that I will choose a form and run in the NPP presidential primary in 2024.”

“I intend to run for President of the NPP.” There is no turning back. I’ve decided to run when nominations open.

They are currently holding Regional Elections, and will then hold National Elections before the New Executive decides when to hold Presidential Elections.

“I will run for the leadership of the NPP in the 2024 elections because that is where I belong,” Kennedy Agyapong said in a television interview.

He made these claims after attending his daughter’s graduation ceremony in the United States.

The five-term Member of Parliament believes he is the only person in the NPP who can give the party another term in office by breaking Ghana’s eight-year presidential cycle.

“This time, I am appealing to all NPP supporters and members to make no mistakes and to ensure that we break the eight.” Because I am not a cabinet member, I am the only person in the NPP who can break the eight for them; therefore, if they want a new face to break the eight, the Kennedy Agyapong ticket is a sure bet.

“I’ll easily defeat Mahama if NPP members believe in me and vote for me to lead the party in the 2024 elections because I have what it takes to win.”

He believes that now is the appropriate time for him to run for internal party elections because he has long served the party.

The firebrand made it clear that he will not step down to allow someone else to lead the party, requesting that “nobody be undermined, nobody be threatened, so that whoever loses will join the winner to campaign.” I’ll support whoever wins, and whoever loses should come out and campaign for me if I win.

In addressing some of the reasons why Ghanaians should vote for him, the Assin Central lawmaker and business mogul revealed that he plans to use his salary and allowances to establish a scholarship scheme to provide higher education to the less fortunate members of society.

“Because I am an entrepreneur, I will rely on my private businesses to support myself and my family during the four years that I will lead this country.” I will establish what we call a Presidential Scholarship, in which my salary and allowances will be invested and used to educate people to attend university.

When asked why Ghanaians should vote for him, Ken Agyapong promised to reduce the country’s unemployment rate and develop the country through tourism, saying, “My goal is to create jobs for people, including graduates who need jobs, and to create vast employment through tourism.”

He stated that he intends to transform the country through discipline and combat corruption.

He claims that within the first 100 days of his government taking office, he will change the mindset of Ghanaians, allowing the country to develop.

As a result, he asked Ghanaians to put their trust in him by giving him the mandate to change the fortunes of the country’s youth by creating more jobs.

“Ghanaians, with Kenneqdy Agyapong, there is hope for the hopeless and voice for the voiceless,” Kennedy Agyapong said. “Gold be with us all,” he said.
