Dennis Nana Kwaku Dwamena, better known as Kidi, a Lynx Entertainment singer, has stated that he had to mentally prepare himself for social media trolls after failing to win artist of the year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards last year.
After losing the prestigious award to gospel musician Diana Hamilton, the “Touch It” singer said he had to brace himself for critics on social media.
Kidi, who won roughly four prizes in a row that night, told Doreen Avio on Lets Talk Showbiz on Tuesday that he expected the trolls when the honor didn’t go his way, so he wasn’t bothered.
“I’ve been trolling since I was a kid, even before I was an artist.” What did Twitter do to me the first suit I wore to the VGMA? So I’m familiar with how things work. Someone had to be the scapegoat in some way, and I believe I had set myself up by stating that I would return. So I expected things to turn out the way it did,” he explained.
