Ghana’s Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo-Marfo, has tested positive for COVID-19. This was disclosed by the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah.

“In a separate development that has come to us this morning, Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo has been informed that his sample given for test has been returned positive. He will therefore as of today commence treatment for COVID-19 from home,” he said during a press address.

The Senior Minister comes to add to the list of government officials who have tested positive for the virus, that is resigned Dep Minister for Trade, Carlos Ahenkorah, Health Minister, among others.

In a Facebook post to wish the Senior Minister speedy recovery, he wrote “Senior Minister Osafo-Marfo tests positive for COVID-19. This one diɛ I wish him a speedy recovery. Get well soon Sir. But wait ooo. How come we have not heard that any NDC top official has tested positive? Anaa they are corona proof“.
