Kanye West is now the richest black man in American history with a net worth of over $6 billion and it didn’t happen by magic.
How did he get there? The 43-year-old rapper apart from music is cashing out from his creative collaboration with businesses and investments.

Forbes in April 2020 declared Kanye a billionaire worth $1.3 billion but he sent a message to the magazine saying “it’s not a billion, it’s $3.3 billion since no one at Forbes knows how to count.” Fast forward the rapper has doubled the figure this year.
According to a new report Kanye’s sneaker and apparel business Yeezy, which is now in partnership with Adidas AG and Gap Inc., is valued between $3.2 billion and $4.7 billion by UBS Group AG.
Bloomberg exclusively reports that from a bank estimate cited, the value of a new Gap collaboration Kanye has signed with his Yeezy brand, for a collection scheduled to hit stores this summer, “could be worth as much as $970 million of that total”.
The website noted that the new Gap line is expected “to break $150 million in sales in its first full year in 2022.”
The “Famous” rapper also has $122 million in cash and stock and $110 million from his music catalogue, alongside $1.7 billion in other assets, including his investment/shares in Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS business.
When you do the maths around these figures, the ‘Ye’ rapper is now worth about $6.6 billion, a feat that no person of African-American has ever reached in the history of America.

This news is coming amid reports of Kanye and Kim Kardashian going through a legal process to separate after the reality star filed for divorce from the rapper a few weeks ago.
