Former CID Boss, COP Tiwaa Addo-Danquah Appointed EOCO Boss

COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, former Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been named Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO).

Her term began on January 5, 2022.

On July 9, 2021, COP Addo-Danquah will succeed Steve Raymond Dapaa-Addo as Director-General of EOCO.

She was most recently the Director-General of the Police Professional and Standards Bureau.

COP Addo-Danquah entered the Ghana Police Service in 1990 and was the first woman to serve as Commandant of the Ghana Police Command and Staff College (GPCSC) in Winneba.

She has also served as an administrator at the Police Hospital and as the chief of the Commercial Crime Unit of the CID.

COP Addo-Danquah gained to attention with the kidnapping of three Takoradi girls, who were eventually found dead.

She was widely chastised for her handling of the matter, and she was repeatedly called on to resign while being accused of botching the investigation.
