The latest European-based Ghanaian in Ghana for an offseason vacation is Timothy Fosu-Mensah. The Bayern Leverkusen defender arrived in Ghana on the 9th of June 2021.
According to him, this is his first time in Ghana in 16 years. He spent a significant part of his life in Europe specifically in Holland.
In an interview with Happy Sports, he professed his undying love for the popular Ghanaian Jollof delicacy. He also expressed his love for afrobeats with King Promise being his favourite in that genre.
“I have enjoyed a lot here in Ghana. The last time I was here was 16 years ago. I love Ghana Jollof and I enjoy King Promise music. He is a good musician,” he told Happy Sports. He also expressed his love for Asante Kotoko.
Fosu-Mensah left Man United in January 2021 and signed for German Bundesliga Bayer Leverkusen.
He has played just two games for the Netherlands and can still switch to the Black Stars per FIFA’s rules for international games.
