Don’t Sack Johnnie Hughes As You Did To Me In 2016 – Bridget Otoo Tells TV3 Management

Bridget Otoo, a Ghanaian media personality, has urged TV3 management not to fire morning show host Johnnie Hughes as they did in 2016.

According to reports, the sitting government’s New Patriotic Party has threatened to boycott TV3 because of the choice questions posed by the morning show’s host, Johnnie Hughes. Bridget Otoo has taken to her Facebook page to ask TV3 to support their opinionated reporter.

Bridget Otoo recounted on her Facebook page how Media General threw her under the bus after she voiced her opinion on some national issues in 2016, when the NPP was still in power.

She chastised media outlets that prevent their reporters and journalists from expressing their views on issues, as well as people who have been elected and entrusted with state resources.

In her write-up, she wrote…

“The year is 2016, the presenter is Bridget Otoo, the result is they succeeded and had their way. I pray they don’t succeed this time. Every journalist has a right to their opinion, to critique or be critical of persons voted for and entrusted with state resources.”

“You may not like their opinion but forcing a station to remove presenters you do not like is draconian and primitive.

I pray more stations to stand firm against such unwarranted political party interference.
TV3 couldn’t do it for me but I hope they do it for Johnny. I will share exactly what and how they said it…. Maybe in my book… soon!”
