According to a new poll, if the 2024 presidential election were held today, former US President Donald Trump would defeat current President Joe Biden by six points.
According to the Redfield & Wilton Strategies poll, 44 percent of Americans would vote for Trump, 38 percent for Biden, and a sizable 12 percent said they didn’t know who they would vote for at this time.
Since his disastrous military and diplomatic withdrawal from Afghanistan this summer, Biden has struggled in the polls.
Combined with his COVID-19 response, the economy, rising gas prices, immigration, and crime, his approval rating among Americans has remained below 50%.
Eighty-seven percent of Trump supporters said they would vote for him again, while 75% of Biden supporters said they would vote for the Democratic nominee.
Trump has gained 1 point among his 2020 voters since December, while Biden has lost 4% of his 2020 voter base.
