Bishop Dag Heward-Mills has rendered an official apology to Asantehene Osei Tutu II over a sermon he says was recorded 20 years ago.

The founder of the Light House Chapel Ministry has been the talk amongst Ashanti Indigenes and for the wrong reasons after Justice Annan and Kennedy Agyapong dropped an audiotape during their Net 2 TV show.

This video apparently resurfaced after almost 20 years and the Ashantis didn’t take it lightly. They defended their King by citing the fact that, Otumfuo collects no taxes from his subjects and should not be held accountable for the development of the whole region.

Dag Heward Mills offered an official apology to the Ashanti Monarch saying “I am deeply saddened that a message I shared at a conference, nearly 20 years ago, has been taken out of its context and circulated by persons who have previously declared that they will maliciously cause our churches in Kumasi to be closed down.

“I wish to apologize to His Majesty Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II for any disrespect, insult or harm caused him or his royal court. Please accept my profound apologies for the statements I made”.

The Lighthouse Chapel leader has been in a fix with some of his junior pastors and the issue s being tried in court at the moment. They accused Dag Heward Mills of not paying their SSNIT contributions whilst working for the church for years.
