According to Ghanaweb.com, the Former United Nations Secretary General is said to have died in Switzerland, Saturday morning after a short illness.
The Kofi Anna Foundation later confirmed the sad news with a press statement which reads: “It is with immense sadness that the Annan family and the Kofi Annan Foundation announce that Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the United Nations and Nobel Peace Laureate, passed away peacefully on Saturday 18th August after a short illness”.
The statement also added that “his wife Nane and their children Ama, Kojo and Nina were by his side during his last days”.

Kofi Annan, is the 1st Black African to serve as UN Boss and served from 1997 to 2006.
