She assured the public that it was detected early and she has already undergone major surgery to remove a huge chunk of cancer. To her, that is the most important stage on her road to recovery.

According to her, it was detected after her routine medical checkup and urged all ladies to listen to their bodies and get medical checkups on their bodies regularly.

Amanpour has been scheduled for a series of chemotherapy to remove the rest of the cancer which couldn’t be surgically removed.

She also encouraged doctors not to dismiss the symptoms and complaints of their patients as her early detection of ovarian cancer is already half the battle won.

In the video above, she has approached this life hurdle with optimism and strength and is hoping to return back on the network soon enough after recovery.

Christiane Amanpour is also well known for her globetrotting reportage, covering unique stories across the world. Christiane’s interview with Moesha Buduong is one that many remember.

In the interview above, Moesha confessed to dating a married man, claiming that it is a means of survival for most Ghanaian women because of economic hardship – a comment that caused her uproar and backlash on social media.
