The late gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu’s family has set a date for her funeral.
According to his family, Osinachi’s funeral will be held on June 25, 2022.
Osinachi’s family requested that she be buried in her father’s compound in Isuochi, Abia State, rather than at her husband’s home.
The singer’s family is also considering returning his bride’s money, according to BBC Igbo.
Osinachi’s death was announced on April 8, 2022.
According to the Federal Government (FG), Mr Nwachukwu deprived the deceased of her personal liberty and restricted her movement by locking her up in the residence.
FG also accused him of emotionally, verbally, and psychologically abusing Osinachi.
According to FG, investigations revealed that the defendant denied Osinachi access to her money for medications and basic necessities, forcing her to beg and borrow.
They claimed that Osinachi’s husband barred her mother and siblings from visiting her matrimonial home, effectively isolating her from her family.
Nwachukwu was also accused of abusing his children, filming their cries on his phone, and then playing with them again.
