Ameyaw At 40: 10 Facts You Need To Know About The Pioneer Ghanaian Blogger

Men are rumoured to look their finest at age 40 and veteran Ghanaian blogger, Ameyaw Debrah just joined the club.

On this day, 7th July in the year of our Lord, we see Ameyaw Debrah crossover to another exciting chapter of his life.

There is no doubt he has achieved great things in life and is very successful. He’s been an inspiration to many in the media space and though he is controversial on certain occasions, he is loved by many.

He does have some interesting facts behind the scenes of his success and as he is celebrated today, here are a few of those:

Ameyaw Debrah attended Adisadel College and graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Publishing. He was a first-class student and won Best Publishing Studies Student in his badge.

Starting his career with Adele Momodu’s Ovation Magazine as a reporter, he has later contributed to Pan-African sites like Jamati.com, Orijin-ent.com, and ModernGhana.com

He was the entertainment editor at GhanaWeb 2008 before leaving to pursue his blog, AmeyawDebrah.com full-time in 2012. He was apparently fired due to a conflict of interest between him and the media company.

He took up artist management and managed multi-Platinum-award-winning music producer, Coptic. He also managed sensational rapper, Pappy Kojo.

He helped to establish and managed digital media companies like PulseGhana and Yen.com

He was the first Ghanaian blogger to reach a million followers on Twitter and to be verified on all his social media platforms as well.

He was the first Ghanaian blogger to interview famous American celebs like Amber Rose, Trey Songz, Ludacris among others.

He married Elsie Darkoa in 2018 and the couple has a son called Nathan. The blogger’s wife and son are based in the United States.

Ameyaw Debrah can also live without sex for years he recently revealed he hasn’t had any for about 2 years now.

In 2013, he won the City People Entertainment Award for best blogger. And won other awards like Falcon Awards – Best Blogger – 2016

African Pride Awards – Outstanding Media & PR – 2016

Ghana Entertainment Awards USA – Best Entertainment Blogger, 2017

Ghana Entertainment Awards USA – Best Entertainment Blogger, 2018

Africa Entertainment Awards USA – Best Entertainment Blogger, 2019

Ghana National Communications Awards – Best Blogger, 2019, among others.
