Akuapem Poloo’s son now living with 5 orphans I look after – Lawyer

Lawyer Andrew Kudzo Vortia who represents Akuapem Poloo in court says the actress’ son is now living under his care.

Speaking to Emefa Akosua Adeti on Joy Prime TV this morning he said,“I took him to my outside resident. I have a house that host about five orphans and so they are playing around my compound”.

According to him, the convicted actress’ son, Chief, has been made to believe whatever is happening to his mother is a movie role she is playing.

“I have told him mummy is going to do some acting work. I have created an impression that what is happening is part of the role that she is playing. So the son thinks the mother is acting,” he said in the video below.

Akuapem Poloo was sentenced to 90 days in prison last Friday by an Accra Circuit Court after she pleaded guilty to charges levelled against her for taking a nude picture with her son and posting it on her Instagram page.

Poloo who has been held in custody at the Osu Police station is expected to be transferred to Ankaful Prison today after a COVID-19 test, where she’ll begin her jail time.

However, the lawyer for the jailed socialite has filed a notice of appeal and application for bail against Akuapem’s custodial sentence at the same time.

In the appeal, counsel for the actress is seeking a fine as a punishment, considering that she is a first offender who pleaded guilty.

Poloo’s lawyer contends that the 90-day sentence is too short and that if she is not admitted to bail immediately by the time the appeal is heard and determined, she would have finished serving the sentence.

Accordingly, the Criminal Division of the Accra High Court will, on April 21, will rule on an application for bail pending appeal filed by lawyers of Akuapem Poloo.
