Akuapem Poloo Pays GHc12,000 As A Replacement For Her 90-Days Custodial Sentence (PHOTO)

Rosemond Alade Brown, also known as Akuapem Poloo, a Ghanaian actress and social media icon, reportedly paid a fine of GHc12,000 in lieu of her 90-day custodial sentence.

It will be remembered that the actress was asked to serve her 90-day jail sentence by circuit court after her appeal to have the prison sentence replaced with a fine was rejected by the Accra High Court.

This comes after she was charged with three counts of obscene material publication, engaging in domestic violence, conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy or integrity, and engaging in domestic violence, specifically conduct that detracts or is likely to detract from another person’s dignity and worth as a human being.

This came after she posted a naked photo of herself on social media with her seven-year-old son on his seventh birthday in 2020. She initially pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against her, but later pleaded guilty.

After her appeal was denied by the Accra High Court, Akuapem Poloo was sentenced to serve the remainder of her 90-day sentence as a deterrent to others who commit the same offenses she was accused of.

According to reports, she has been fined as a substitute for her 90-day incarceration sentence.

According to a receipt that has surfaced online, the Ghanaian actress paid the cash to the Judicial Service of Ghana as a substitute for her 90-day prison sentence, she will pay a fee of 1000 penalty units, or GHc12, 000.
